From the elegance of the reining, the precision of the herd work, and the grittiness of going down the fence the sport of reined cowhorse is just addicting to watch as it is to compete in!
Here at Corazón, Christa Trevino is the head trainer of our cowhorse program and she eats, sleeps, and dreams reined cowhorse. Her style of training beautifully coincides with such a demanding sport, because she is pertinent about listening to her horses. Her background is in starting colts and working with troubled horses. This developed her patience and grew her horsemanship into what it is today.
There are no shortcuts when it comes to developing a reined cowhorse and Christa goes the extra mile to ensure that her cowhorses are ready for the next step in their training, never going beyond what they can handle. Christa has combined her horsemanship with the skills she has learned over the years into a thriving cowhorse program that is quickly growing into everything she has ever dreamed of.
